Clinician

It all started in 1993 when Congress passed the Therapeutic Shoe Bill for diabetics. Working as the office manager for family-owned Middleburg Pharmacy and Diabetic supply company, Sion was put in charge of fitting diabetic patients for shoes. In 2004, the business merged with mid-sized Long’s Drugs. Sion soon became Director of Retail Services for Long Term Care overseeing twelve retail DME locations. In 2012 he started MedPoints Medical, a medical equipment supply company. In 2013 he purchased Foot Solutons of Columbia and lead that franchise for seven years until its closure in April 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of the ashes of this tragedy, Sion was tapped to lead The Orthocare Place as a chief fitter and merged MedPoints to increase medical supply options. He is a member of AOPA, PFA, and has been a board member for the accrediting body BOC (2016-2020). He holds a certification in compression therapy from Sigvaris USA as well as Health Management Certification from The University of Oregon. He is a BOC certified pedorthist and brace specialist along with a CDME as a medical supply specialist.

He has been “fitting” for 25+ years.
